Fresh fish! Honey, honey! Homemade! Luscious tomato! Try this bread! If the walls of The James Beard House Greenhouse Gallery could speak, they would clamor with these invitations from the current exhibit, "Picture Italian Food." This natural and fresh collection from photographer and chef Jamie Tiampo commemorates Italian cuisine and overflows with lush color and texture. Just as Italian cuisine treats ingredients simply, accentuating their intrinsic flavors, Tiampo's photographs savor natural light and impromptu everyday scenes: human and elegant.
Join Jamie Tiampo at The James Beard House on Friday, September 28th for a gallery reception and guided tasting of Italian wines by Joseph Campanale, sommelier and owner of dell'anima, a new restaurant scheduled to open on October 15th at 38 8th Avenue.
Food and art lovers will enjoy Tiampo's deep culinary knowledge and vivid artistic sensibility. Capturing fleeting food moments from his travels through Italy, Tiampo preserves timeless food memories from farm to table and from cheese cave to vineyard.
A preview of "Picture Italian Food" and more information are available at www.seefoodmedia.com and www.jamesbeard.org.
